African-Americans Voting With Their Feet

An interesting report on NPR, Opportunity, Affordability Lure More Blacks South discussed the growing number of African-Americans moving away from northern cities towards the south. So, in a sense these families, who are mostly middle class and educated, are voting with their feet for the conservative policies that have allowed the south to attract greater industry and opportunity, while still maintaining a lower cost of living. We can only hope that they will have the insight not to help recreate the policies that contributed to the exodus of jobs and families from Chicago and Illinois.
